“The main purpose of the pHLip test is to act as a ‘firewall,’ blocking potentially out-of-spec fuel from getting into the supply chain.” (Biodiesel Magazine, April, 2006) The pHLip Test was developed by CytoCulture International, Inc. under the direction of Dr. Randall von Wedel.  As a quality-conscious biodiesel consumer himself, Dr. von Wedel extends his personal standards to the biodiesel community by making the pHLip test not only simple, but available and affordable. 

With a quick pHlip and a short wait-time of ten minutes, B100 fuels can now be qualitatively tested on the field.
